5 out of 5 stars I love it   February 11, 2010
Helena Li
My 2nd copy cos' I gave my first one to my friend who has problem in the back. I use it to do exercise mainly for my shoulder and back. I always love Rachel. She has a certain kind of charisma: cool, in control, feminine. I love all her DVDs. She is one of a kind. I hope she will publish more.

1 out of 5 stars the worst bellydance DVD I have ever purchased   January 18, 2010

2 out of 2 found this review helpful

I have purchased many bellydance DVDs before and this is, by far, the worst DVD I have ever bought. It was a complete waste of my time as an intermediate dancer but I would say the same thing to anyone at any level regarding this DVD. I really expected better out of the Bellydance Superstars and Rachel Brice especially. There was essentially 1 move taught in this dvd which was a tribal version of snake arms and a bunch of stupid warm up and cool downs - there was nothing to cool down from. She tried to get your shoulders warmed up to start working on arm movement, taught you 1 thing w/ arms put it in a ridiculously short technique and then started to cool down. Unless you are an absolute beginner, you would know what a snake arm is as well so she managed in 45 minutes to teach the most basic of all beginner bellydace technique and should be ashamed for having her involvement with this dvd. I thought there would be ANYTHING regarding different dance postures, poses arm movement - there was NOTHING!!! DO NOT BUY THIS DVD! I truly feel that this company owes me back the $13 for this terrible excuse for a bellydance dvd and will be MUCH more cautious when buying products from the Bellydance Superstars in the future. Mr. Copeland, I want my time and money back as I feel this was a complete waste for any dancer of any level.

5 out of 5 stars Great upper body & arms conditioning   November 6, 2009
book worm (Minneapolis, MN USA)
I practiced the art(Belly Dance) for a number of years- then kids, job and horses took the time. I have decided to go back to belly dance- for the joy and conditioning it offers.

I really like this DVD. Rachel talks through every move and prompts the viewer to breath and relax the jaw and shoulders.
I was sore after I practiced this DVD and I'll be back for more. I love the conditioning it offers, and the cool down relaxes and calms.

This is not "fluff" this is(in my opinion) great conditioning to get the viewer ready for the dance, If you are already a dancer- this is still a great way to be aware of your posture and continue to improve yourself and your dance.

Rachel's performance at the end is nothing less than inspiring!

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   October 6, 2009

I initially bought this because I love Rachel Brice and thought this would be a nice arm workout - but it's so much more! While the main emphasis is on arms, you work your thighs, back, shoulders, ribs, neck and entire body. I really felt this practice through every muscle and think even intermediate - advanced dancers would be surprised at how much they get out of it. I wouldn't recommend this for people with bad knees though.

5 out of 5 stars Very Different and challenging!   September 25, 2009
